Hello,
I am trying to log onto a oracle 8i db using sql/navigator. I have successfully logged onto the db using sqlplus on the unix command line using
lawtest@test
and then enterting the password.
But when I try to enter the db using sql navigator I am not exactly sure what to enter in the "COnnect String" I know I have to edit the tnsnames.ora file which I did but it still does not work.
My entry is:
TEST-MHS =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS_LIST =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 10.2.1.133)(PORT = 1521))
)
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SID = TEST)
)
)
ANy idea what I am doing wrong? Is their a configuration file some place in a standard Oracle install that will tell me what values to enter in the tnsnames.ora file?
Thank You.
