Hi all,
Does the PROCESSES initialization parameter of init.ora depend on some other parameter ?
We were getting the error as
maximum no of process (50) exceeded.....
The value was initially set to 50, so when the value was....changed to 200, and the database was restarted, it gave an error of "end-of-file on communication channel"
The value was reduced to 150 & 100 and the same error was encountered....when it was set back to 50, the database started....
Can anyone clear ?

Thanks....

well its not a problem just disconnect from the sqlplus and then reconnect and issue startup
i guess u r using spfile and changing it so this kind of error its a bug but work around is to disconnect and reconnect... try it.. may be this is a reason
