I installed Oracle 8i personal edition in my windows 98 with the minimal installation option.
After installation, I wish to know how to setup an instance, initSID.ora,tnsnames.ora, listener.ora etc., and then create a database manually. Currently, I am getting errors insufficient privileges etc., The sequence of steps I did were the following before I got the error.

At Dos prompt,

Oradim -new -sid <SID> -intpwd <Password>
set ORACLE_SID=<SID>
sqlplus "/ as sysdba"

At the third step, the error came up( insufficient privileges ).

Does anyone know of a step by step tutorial or something for oracle 8i installation on Windows 98. your help is deeply appreciated.

Thanks
Deepak
