hi
i am having windows 2000 proffessional, i try to install oracle 9i in my machine, while i am double click the setup file the installation in not yet continue, no error message appears. simply nothing is happened.
pls. help me.

is the machine you are trying to install is a P4 machine?
1. Copy the entire CD to a temp directory in Harddisk
2. look for the filename symcjit.dll.
3. Rename each copy of the symcjit.dll to symcjit.old.
4. Run the setup.exe from the Harddisk.

Have you logged in with admin privileges ID? if yes, check the following..
1> That machine must be running with service pack 1 or (preferably) 2 installed.
2> Temp space =400MB
3> Virtual Memory ,Initial size=200MB ; maximum size=400MB

Pls. revert back on this

hi,
thanks for u'r valuable points,
i have installed service pack2.
I set the virtual memory minimum as 500 and max as 1000.
i have disabled iis.
i have copied the files and symcjit.dll to .old

even now i am having same probelm.

is there java or jre is need to install ..?
pls.
