Hello Oracle-phils,
I'm tuning an 8.1.6 application that we just ported to 9.2.0, and its performance has really degraded.
That aside, my specific question is around the parameter hash_multiblock_io_count. This parameter is no longer there in 9i -- what was its use?
I have noticed that my 9i queries use HASH JOINS much more than with 8i, and am looking at parameters related to HASHes. Any ideas?
My hash_area_size is about 10 times smaller on 9i, so my hope of reducing it in order to make the CBO cost hashes higher is a moot point now.
