To all Oracle Gurus,
We want to install Oracle 9.2 on Sun Solaris 8.
The Oracle 9i installation guide talks about some operating system patches to be installed before intsalling Oracle9.2. The reqd. patch id is
update5(07/01) for Solaris8(SUN OS5.8, Solaris 2.8).
I am not able to find this on the recommended sunsolve.sun.com website.
Has anybody intsalled Oracle 9.2 Enterprise Edition on Solaris 8? Can those people help me finding the patches?
Also are these patcehs necessary for Oracle9i.

Surekha,
Hi. If Oracle has recommended an OS patch then its better one follows it.
For the patches, did you try metalink.oracle.com?
You need to have a login.
Click on the patches tab on the left and then search. It should be easy to find. Good luck.
